SCORES of mountain bike fans braved torrential downpours to see a world class motorcycle star launch new off-road biking facilities in Gisburn Forest.
Leading TT competitor and mountain biking enthusiast Guy Martin opened the facilities by cutting the ribbon.
The new facilities at the Forest Hub include a new car park, a café, new sections of trail and a special skills area for riders to hone their technique.
Visitors on Saturday were able to take part in rail building demonstrations and free coaching sessions.
Martin Colledge, beat forester for Gisburn Forest, said: “We are really excited about these great new facilities.
“Gisburn has steadily grown into one of the top destinations for mountain bikers in north west England and these facilities will help enhance that reputation and make bikers’ visits all the more enjoyable.”
