NELSON mosque Ghausia is to hold a unique open day next Wednesday featuring interactive stalls on various facets of Islam, including sacred relics and information on the Prophet Muhammad.

Raja Qasim, project manager, said: “Historians have done a remarkable job of preserving the life and conduct of the Prophet Muhammad. We are using this opportunity to introduce visitors to things such as the type of food he would eat and the type of clothes he wore.”

Visitors will get a tour of the building and its facilities, and the chance to voice their thoughts and opinions in an honest, open and friendly environment. Mr Qasim said: “Despite the mosque’s open-door policy, very few people take the opportunity to drop in. The open day is an attempt to demonstrate what goes on here, and to show people that we are happy to receive guests at any time of the year.”

The open day will start at 10am.
