A 30-year-old man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with the attempted murder of 41-year-old Derek Wildman.
Steven Quigley, of Rothesay Road, Blackburn was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he is due to appear on March 20.
His brother, Garry Quigley, 42, of Hancock Street, Blackburn, was also sent in custody to the Crown Court charged with assisting an offender.
Mr Wildman remains in a critical condition in the Royal Preston Hospital after being assaulted at his home in Coleridge Street, Blackburn, in the early hours of February 24.
