AN East Lancashire MP will hold a free advice event to encourage businesses to ‘Export For Growth’.

Rossendale MP Jake Berry will be at The Business Centre in Futures Park, Bacup, from 2pm to 4.30pm on Friday, February 15.

Mr Berry said that over the past year the value of exports from the North West were estimated at more than £26billion, providing a massive boost to the region’s economy and he was keen for local businesses to get involved in the lucrative market.

He said: “We in East Lancashire have a proud history in manufacturing and I believe that it is right that our quality businesses should be recognised not only on the national stage but internationally.”

The event will give businesses the opportunity to talk to experienced export advisers and learn from local businesses that have successfully entered the export market.

As well as Mr Berry, there will be representations from UK Trade & Investment, British Embassy Dublin, Flexcrete Technologies Ltd, and East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
