A GROUP of East Lancashire schoolchildren are becoming more engaged by role-play — thanks to the help of a popular social enterprise.
SAMS, a Blackburn-based scrap art material store, have distributed a number of phone systems to primary schools across the region for use in role-play situations.
The phones were kindly donated by Barrowford-based Denwa Communications, one of Lancashire’s leading communications firms.
Joanne Mason, Project Manager at SAMS, said: “This goes to show you can recycle virtually anything.
“Denwa Communications kindly donated some equipment to us and that is now being used in schools across East Lancashire.
“Children love to use them in role-play situations, whether they’re pretending to be doctors or nurses, or running a post office.
“We also distributed some of the kit to a number of high schools in the area.”
A not-for-profit social enterprise, run by Community and Business Partners, SAMS is open to groups of all types.
