THE LEADER of Rossendale Council has called on residents to have their say on a number of consultations currently affecting the Valley.

The council is seeking feedback on issues including its Green Belt and Urban Boundaries review and Haslingden Swimming Pool.

Coun Alyson Barnes said: “Due to cuts in central Government funding we are facing serious financial challenges, we are keen to hear the views of local people in relation to what is important to them and where they want us to prioritise our spending.

“We have already undertaken some initial consultation on the areas that residents would like to see the council focusing on. We are now seeking views in relation the council’s priorities and the budget.

“We have also launched a public consultation in relation to savings that could be made from Haslingden Swimming Pool. People can give their views via the council website or contact the council for paper copies of the consultation documentations.”
