POLICE discovered a £17,000 cannabis factory after a raid at a house in Darwen.
Officers found 42 plants in the upstairs bedroom at the property on Tythebarn Street. Cultivation equipment including lighting and fans was also seized. The action followed concerns from the public.
Inquiries continue to try to find out who was responsible for the cannabis and police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
DI Mark Winstanley said: “Once again, we have acted on concerns from local residents and prevented a large amount of cannabis from reaching the streets of East Lancashire. We know the impact drugs has on our communities and we will continue to do all we can to tackle them. I urge anyone with information about drugs in their community to contact us.”
