LANCASHIRE County Council's Tim Ashton is back at work after he temporarily stepped down from his duties due to his commitments as a candidate in Lancashire's police and crime commissioner elections.
County Coun Ashton has now returned to his post as Cabinet member for highways and transport, allowing county councillors Michael Green and Albert Atkinson to resume their previous responsibilities, having expanded their roles while the elections took place.
County Coun Ashton said: "I'm very grateful to my colleagues for taking on extra responsibilities in recent months, adding to what are already very busy and important portfolios, and would like to thank them for their excellent work. I will also continue to prioritise the scheme to reduce speed limits in residential areas and outside schools to 20mph, and to make sure people understand that we're doing it to improve safety."
