THE FAMILY of a Rossendale dad killed in a car crash have paid tribute to their ‘baby’.

Zolillur Rahman, 24, was one of two people who died as a result of the crash in Wilpshire on November 11.

The married father-of-one was pronounced dead in Royal Preston Hospital at 4am last Friday, five days after the accident.

He lived in Schofield Close in Rawtenstall with his mother Rana.

His eldest brother said Mr Rahman was on the verge of opening a new takeaway business with a brother-in-law in Longridge.

Zia Rahman, 35, said: “We have a large family in Rossendale and Mr Rahman was the baby of the family.

“He kept himself to himself and was quite religious.

“We’re really going to miss him. He will leave a big hole in all of our lives.

“I think it will be especially hard for his wife and baby boy.”

Mr Rahman was a former pupil of St Mary’s CE Primary School and Alder Grange Community, Technology School and Sixth Form, both in Rawtenstall.

He leaves behind his wife of almost five years, Yeasmin, 23, and their two-year-old son Zaheer.

An inquest into Mr Rahman’s death was opened and adjourned by East Lancashire Coroner Michael Singleton on Tuesday.

He adjourned the inquest so that police could complete their investigations into the crash, and so that another inquest could be held at the same time.

Blackburn man Robert Carson, 35, also died after his Vauxhall Corsa and Mr Rahman’s Ford Focus collided head-on at around 10.30pm between the Bulls Head pub and the Wilpshire Hotel in Whalley New Road.
