Ribchester-based theatre company Ribcaged will present The Entertainer at Clitheroe’s Grand Theatre next week.

The play will feature local newcomers Eliza Thompson and Cassie John Baptsite with Owen Phillips directing the action.

“It promises to be really entertaining, and there are going to be a few surprises too,” said Phillips.

The play, first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London, with Sir Lawrence Olivier in the role of Archie Rice, enjoyed a triumphant run in the West End.

The Entertainer was later made into a film in 1960, with Albert Finney and Alan Bates making their screen debuts.

The play runs from December 10-12. Call 01200 421599 for details.
