AUDIENCES at Blackburn Arts Club's latest production of The Mysterious Mr Love on September 1 and 2 can enjoy a cracking show and feel charitable at the same time- for the profits are going to the East Lancashire Hospice.
The play, by Karoline Leach, and starring Carol-Anne Connolly and Steven Derbyshire is being produced by the Staveley Roundhouse in aid of the Hospice.
Set in 1910, it is the cautionary tale of a young woman who falls under the spell of Mr George Love, a gentleman and diplomat, full of politeness and charm, or so he would have you believe.
He is, in fact, a fortune-hunter marrying vulnerable young women and stealing their nest-eggs. But this time, has he met his match?
The play is being presented on Friday and Saturday, 1 and 2 September at the Club Theatre, Gibraltar Street, Blackburn from 7.30pm each night. Tickets are available at £7 from either 01254 52024 or 01254 812330.
