WILLY Russell's Blood Brothers is the next production to be tackled by Burnley Garrick Club, from September 26 to 29.

The play, set in Liverpool, tells the heart-wrenching tale of twin brothers born into a large working class family, and what happens when their mother is persuaded to have one of them adopted.

The twins grow up on Merseyside, one in abject poverty, the other with all the middle class trappings wealth and privilege can bring. Their lives and loves become linked through a friendship formed in childhood innocence but challenged by the class divide.

Directing the play is Garrick chairman and experienced director Martin Chadwick. Martin joined the Garrick in 1972 and since then he has acted in or directed around 50 plays for the society. He has also worked with Colne Little Theatre and the Light Opera Societies in Accrington, Burnley, Colne and Todmorden.

There are six main roles and several cameo roles. Martin has chosen a cast which is a combination of youth and experience and of Garrick regulars and newcomers.

If you have never seen this hugely popular play, now is your chance.

The play runs from September 26 to 29, at Burnley Mechanics. For tickets call box office on 01282 664400.
