FREE entertainment is on offer tonight at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn when The Fireside Fusiliers present an evening of poems and pints in the theatre bar.
The Fireside Fusiliers provide a unique mix of styles, combining traditional songs, comedy sketches, poems and monologues.
The group of friends comprises of Nick Caffrey, Sid Calderbank, George Critchley, Phil Knight, Keith Scowcroft, and Les Bond, all well-known local performers in their own right.
"Our eclectic mix of styles and material, is so different from anything doing the rounds at the moment," said Les Bond.
"We went down a storm at our first few performances, and we were looking for somewhere to practice, and we were offered the bar at the Thwaites Empire Theatre.
"It's a wonderful venue, a place where we can try out new material, in front of a live audience.
"People can come and listen to us, have a drink, get a good night's entertainment, it's free and we hope to continue the idea as a monthly residency if it proves popular."
The Fireside Fusiliers, Thwaites Empire Theatre, Blackburn, tonight from 7.30pm
