TICKETS go on general sale for Clitheroe Parish Church AODS’s Jekyll and Hyde today.

Public booking launches at 2pm to 3pm and 7pm and 8pm at St Mary’s Centre, Clitheroe, for the production - also at St Mary’s Centre - from February 15 to 22, 7.30pm.

A spokesman said: “Although you may think of this story as shown in the cinema, over the years, don’t be put off by the ‘horror’ image.

“This is about a man, desperate to save his father and improve humanity, by removing all man’s worst elements and leaving behind only the best.

“A quest, which, tragically, leads to his downfall and the deaths of all who have stood in his way. Despite this, Jekyll’s soul is saved by his friend and his devoted fiance, Emma and he choses death as his only escape, in order to save them from his evil alter ego, Hyde.

“The music and the songs in this dramatic and emotional show are amazing, with well known numbers like This Is The Moment. With lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Frank Wildhorn, this could only be brilliant and unmissable, so, even if you are unsure, take a chance and see this production. You won’t be sorry!

“There are some amusing, self important characters and some, dark and sinister. Every emotion is here. Every weakness of the human spirit and every triumph. There is love, hope and tragedy.”

The box office will be open on Tuesdays from 10am to noon and 7pm to 8pm, on Thursdays 10am to noon, Fridays 7pm to 8pm and Saturdays 10.30 to 11.30am. Tickets cost £10 for performances on February 15 and 17 at 7.30pm and at 2.15pm on February 22, and £11 or £12 all other shows. A £30 family ticket is available for the matinee.
