Jeremy Clarkson’s career-defining fracas has been immortalised in metal, according to a social media post by the hotel where the infamous brawl took place.
Simonstowe Hall, in North Yorkshire, shared a picture of the plaque in a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon.

The tongue-in-cheek eulogy reads: “Here lies the BBC career of Jeremy Clarkson. Who had a fracas on this spot 4th March 2015. The rest is legend.”
It’s possibly not the glorious accolade he’d been hoping for.
But it seems to have gone down well with Facebookers, who are dubbing it “brilliant” and “fantastic”.
The former Top Gear host was sacked by the BBC for punching producer Oisin Tymon in a row over a steak dinner at the North Yorkshire hotel in March.

The country house hotel, which describes itself as the “ultimate tranquil retreat”, wrote: “We were presented with this plaque from one of our guests last night!
“We think it would be quite appropriate to put it on the patio where the fracas took place!!”
The donor is believed to be an anonymous visitor.
Fess up, whoever you are.
