SINGER songwriter J D Meatyard will be returning to East Lancashire for a couple of homecoming gigs.
The alter ego of former Calvin Party frontman John Donaldson, the J D Meatyard Independents Review night will be at the Lemon Tree in Blackburn tomorrow night featuring Mankin, Tamsin A and Kin. Special guest for the evening will be former Three Men Gone Mad guitarist Woody, now making music as Ruben Jones.
Admission is free with live music due to run from 9pm.
Formerly the Jubilee, the Lemon Tree, is beginning to make a name for itself as a live music venue in the town centre.
“The Jubilee had a long history as a music pub,” said Woody, “and it would be great to see genuine music fans coming along and supporting the event. You get the feeling that things are starting to happen in Blackburn for live music and it’s important that everyone jumps on that wave when they can otherwise it will just pass.”
The Independents Review will then move on to John’s home town for a date at Number 39 Hopstar Brewery Tap in Darwen on Saturday
