RISING star of the comedy scene Bobby Mair will be heading to Darwen on Saturday with a show which ensure his audience really get to know him better.

In Loudly Insecure, the Canadian will be talking about his search to find his biological parents as part of the show.

“I just like to be open,” he said. “I think it’s more interesting. Good comedy doesn’t come from not saying everything you want to say. There has to be an element of risk to it.”

Talking risks is something Bobby has ever shied away from.

With his then fiancee, now his wife, fellow comedian Harriet Kemsley he produced the sitcom Bobby And Harriet Get Married which followed the couple on the way to the altar. They even filmed scenes for the sitcom at their own wedding.

“I think that was the point when we both thought that perhaps we had whored ourselves out as much as we were going to,” said Bobby.

Revealing so much about yourself on stage or screen is not something many comedians would do.

“The up side of telling a really personal story is that the audience gets to know you better and they are more invested in you,” he said. “You can take them to places lot of shows wouldn’t and make it more special. The downside is that you are sharing your personal tragedy all the time and dig it up even when you don’t feel like talking about it.”
