THIS year’s Clitheroe Blues, Rhythm and Rock Festival will have an international flavour as a Woodstock veteran crosses the Atlantic to headline the event.

Drummer Corky Laing was a member of the pioneering heavy rock band Mountain who played at the famous Woodstock Festival in 1969 and are best remembered for the song Mississippi Queen.

He will be bringing his current band to the Grand in Clitheroe which is once again hosting the day-long festival to play the songs of Mountain.

Also announced for the festival in October will be blues rock singer and guitarist Chantel McGregor. The multiple British Blues Award winner is a firm favourite at the Grand.

The line-up will also include the Stevie Nimmo Trio. Stevie made a name for himself as part of the Nimmo Brothers.. Brother Alan is now the frontman of King King while Stevie and his band have built up a major reputation for their live shows.

London-based Southbound, the Zoe Schwartz Blue Commotion and Catfish complete the six-band line-up. The festival starts around 2pm

A limited number of early-bird tickets are currently on sale priced £24.
