DANCEFLOOR groovers Jeramiah Ferrari make a triumphant return to the Ribble Valley next Saturday as the headline act for charity music show Hey Clitheroe.

And the Manchester four-piece will be joined by a crackerjack of a bill at the Grand Theatre, featuring turbo folk act Drop the Floor, The Ragamuffins, The Ruby Tuesdays and Landslide.

Kid rockers Landslide will open up the mini festival, featuring five bands and a host of DJs that will be sure to test the springs on the Grand’s dancefloor.

Talent scout and Hey Clitheroe organiser Derek Russell first saw Landslide play at the Grand’s Be My Band project and said: “Landslide are all aged under 15 and the drummer, who is only 10, is brilliant.

“They are already composing and performing their own material and we are overjoyed that they will feature at Hey Clitheroe because they’ve been on our radar for a long time.”

There is a real feelgood factor to Hey Clitheroe with money raised from the event to be donated to Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Last year Good Foxy headlined Hey Clitheroe, the show selling out and raising a bumper £5,000 for the children’s hospital.

“We are absolutely over the moon with the acts, it is really exciting and, hopefully, we can pack the Grand out next week,” added Derek

“We’ve kept the ticket prices at an affordable rate, £10 for an adult and also a family ticket for four (2 adults, 2 children), so, hopefully, folk of all ages will come along to support Hey Clitheroe.

“The emphasis of Hey Clitheroe continues to be on presenting local acts and, of course, raising money.

“Four of the bands, or key members of them, live locally.

“However, we decided to include Jeramiah Ferrari to ensure their important type of music is included in the music mix and for their vibrant live performances.”

He added: “Jeramiah Ferrari have played several shows in the Ribble Valley – including a private gig last month – and now have a big following locally, so they probably qualify as adopted Clitheronians.”

The Ruby Tuesdays will preview their debut EP, The People, at Hey Clitheroe.

“The Ruby Tuesdays performed their first gig at a personal event I held last year and we signed them up for Hey Clitheroe because they were so impressive.”

Clitheroe’s Drop the Floor take no prisoners with their high energy instrumental Irish music featuring the sound of the Uilleann pipes, fiddles and banjos - from the heart of Lancashire.

Following the release of their album, Raise the Roof, they return to the Grand after winning a host of new fans with their barnstorming performances at the Cloudspotting Festival and many others nationwide.

The Ragamuffins released their album Over On the Shipping Forecast last year and are favourites on the festival circuit.
