First published in Wine reviews Lancashire Telegraph: Photograph of the Author by , Assistant editor

There are a fair number of Pinot Noirs around and that’s something to savour.

Tasmania, Australia’s Yarra Valley and parts of Chile are the best Southern Hemisphere areas for it, along with New Zealand’s famed Marlborough region where this beauty comes from.

The alcohol is a chunky 13.5 per cent and plums nestle with cherries and a little oak.
