Black Grenache grapes are the most-planted vines in southern France and Spain but the white variety used in this wine is quite rare.
South of the France's Rhone Valley is where it is to be found and this blend, described as a country wine from the Mediterranean, is a lovely mix of tropical fruit, apples and white peaches.
Alcohol is 13% and although not cheap it is a wonderfully different dry white.
Deux Fleurs Chardonnay-Grenache 2010, £9.35, Tesco
