Penguin Sands Pinot Noir 2009, £9.99, Sainsbury's Central Otago, New Zealand, where this wine originates is a fair way inland and some distance from penguins and sand although it is in beautiful country.
It's a sign of the times that even Sainsbury's own 'Taste the Difference' brands cost £10 but it is a superbly tasty cherry and raspberry Pinot Noir with lots of lovely spice and still cheaper than most very average French Burgundy competitors.
