For less than £7 here’s a plummy French red with smooth tannins from a 14th century estate just over 30 miles from Bordeaux.
The area’s usual blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes are in evidence and the label says 14 per cent alcohol but it doesn’t taste overpowering.
