ACCRINGTON Mod favourites The Itch have pulled off a coup by getting Secret Affair lead singer Ian Page to join them for their annual event next weekend.

The band, celebrating 20 years together in April, will be joined by Page at the Poplar WMC in Accrington.

With hit singles such as My World and Time For Action, Secret Affair were at the forefront of a Mod revival in 1979.

The Itch’s Dave Benmore said: “Ian’s been a good friend to the band over the years and he’s produced some tracks for us in the past. We are delighted to have been able to get him come along to our annual event.

“We’ve been rehearsing some Secret Affair stuff but we won’t be able to do a proper run through with him until the day.”

Next Saturday’s show will also feature former Bradford lead singer Ian H performing a semi-acoustic solo set and up-and-coming Accrington band The Shade.

The Itch are currently putting the finishing touches to tracks for a new album which they hope to relase for their 20th anniverary.

Tickets for next Saturday’s event are £5 on the door or £4 in advance from the Poplar Club or band members.
