CAMPAIGNERS supporting the memorial fund in aid of Private Jason Lee Rawstron are staging an all-day bash in Clayton-le-Moors on September 10.

Jay’s Action Group will be fundraising at the Royal Oak shortly after the fourth anniversary of the former Moorhead High pupil’s death, serving with the 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan.

Boxing, dancing and face-painting are among the attractions, during the day, with music from Phil Knight.

Live bands and acts including Fred Kennedy and The Inciders have been lined up for the evening, which is backed by the Royal British Legion.

Lee, 23, was killed in a firefight with the Taliban in Helmand Province.

He had been a serving soldier since October 2005.
