FRESH from wowing the crowds at Glastonbury by playing on the same night as rock giants U2, cult comedy folk outfit the Lancashire Hotpots come to Clitheroe on July 15.

The St Helens-based band have turned the comedy song into an art form with classic offerings such as Chippy Tea and He’s Turned Emo.

They have recently released the album Achtung Gravy and are due to play several more major festivals.

The band were formed in 2006 and have gone on to build up a huge live following with their shows which turn into giant parties.

Among their celebrity fans are 6Music’s Colin Murray and Steve Lamacq and comedian Paddy McGuinness whom they supported on his last stand-up tour.

* The Lancashire Hotpots play Clitheroe Grand on Friday, July 15. Tickets, £12, are available from the Grand box office on 01200 421599.
