YOU can say what you want about X-Factor but there’s no doubt it’s given Sunday nights a new lease of life.

Simon Cowell’s talent contest has its fans and its critics alike but giving credit where it’s due the new results show is a must watch.

You don’t even need to be a fan.

The hour-long episode — which actually makes the previous night’s show redundant — is acting like the new Top Of The Pops.

The primetime show has always attracted appearances from big named acts but this year they are coming thick and fast and sooner in the series than ever.

It seems everyone wants a piece of the X Factor magic. Already we’ve seen ‘live’ performances from Usher, Joe McElderry, Katy Perry, Huncoat’s Diana Vickers, judge Cheryl Cole and Michael Buble. This weekend Rihanna, Bon Jovi and Jamiroquai are all set to grace the X Factor stage and it has been reported that Kylie will be performing her new single on the November 7 results show.

If you can sit through appearances from this year’s comedy act Wagner Carrilho then it’s the best show on telly at the moment. Love him or hate him Wagner (make sure you say it right) is being primed by an internet campaign for the Christmas number one spot.

But my bet is he’ll be out this week, after all, jokes do have expiry dates.
