One of my favourite programmes on Five (and there aren’t many) is The Gadget Show, which is wild and wacky with agreeable presenters and delivered at a machine gun pace.

They like to test things on the gadget show, often to destruction.

This week, they looked at netbook computers and got minor celebrities, including Normski, to see how the mini-laptops performed under pressure, looking at microchip speeds and battery life.

If you were thinking of buying a netbook then this segment was entertaining and informative at the same time — a difficult trick to pull off.

One minor gripe, though, every week they have a huge prize.

This week, there were about 50 or 60 items, worth more than £21,000, all for one winner.

It seems an overwhelmingly huge number of prizes for one person. Why not split the prize into more?
