Fans of the cult TV series Red Dwarf are in for a treat at Burnley Mechanics tonight with Norman Lovett headlining the Jester Society Comedy Club.
Lovett, who played Holly in the series, has starred in his own surreal sitcoms, as well as shows such as Keeping Up Appearances and The Young Ones.
Support acts for the Jumprope Entertainment gig are young comic Chris Mayo, and the highly entertaining Simon Feilder, who started his career on the Big Breakfast. Host for the evening will be Mick Ferry, who has appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Road Show and Comedy Blue.
Future line-ups at the Jester look set to include Time Vine, Sarah Millican and Tom Wrigglesworth – winner of the Lancashire Telegraph’s award at the Blackburn Comedy Festival last year.
l Jester Society Comedy Club, Burnley Mechanics, Thursday, April 29, 8pm. Tickets cost £10.
