BURNLEY-based metal band I.C.O.N. will be returning for a special hometown show tomorrow night.

The band will play Sanctuary on Cow Lane, supported by Stone Cold Kill.

This summer the band have played at rock festivals across the UK and they have recently completed a tour of Scotland with American hard rock legends Warrior Soul.

Guitarist Scott Knowles said: “This year has certainly been a very busy and memorable one for the band in terms of shows and appearances.

“We’re really looking forward to kicking off our Autumn tour back home in Burnley to catch up with friends and fans.

“Our hometown crowd has always been exciting and loyal and have supported us for years as the band has grown. We have also chosen Sanctuary as the date to debut brand new material earmarked for our next album.”

Earlier this year, I.C.O.N. were joined by drummer Simon Tubbs, formerly of infamous gothic cartoon rock band Uncle Rotter. Scott said: “Simon has really made an impact since joining the band. He is an amazing drummer and is also a dab hand at writing too! We’re delighted he has joined the family and we haven’t looked back since.”

After the Autumn tour ends in November, I.C.O.N. will be working on the follow up album to their critically-acclaimed debut release New Born Lie, which has now sold almost 1,000 copies on CD alone.

Entry to tomorrow night’s show is free.

I.C.O.N. will also be playing The Borough, in Darwen next Saturday night.
