THE average household energy bill now totals more than £1,000 a year and with 45 per cent of heat escaping through uninsulated walls, the National Insulation Association has advised householders to start thinking smart.
As spring arrives homeowners are urged to act now in preparation for the next icy season.
25 per cent of heat can also leak through uninsulated roofs, so with the right measures put in place, insulating the walls and roof householders could be saving around £520 every year.
