Congratulations to St Mary’s student Oliver Daley, 18, from Burnley, who has been offered a place at the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

LIPA was co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney and despite only opening in 1996 it is “recognised and ranked alongside institutions a lot older” and is consistently placed in the top 10 rankings for specialist institutions.

Oliver will be studying Community Drama after attending a challenging interview which included several workshops and an intimidating Question and Answer session with a panel of staff members from the Institution.  The fact that on average the overall acceptance rate at LIPA is just 4% makes the offer of a place all the more outstanding.

Head of Performing Arts, Emma Naylor said, “Oliver’s passion and enthusiasm has secured this amazing achievement and we are very proud of being able to support his goals”.
Oliver says on his accomplishment, “I wouldn’t have got this amazing opportunity if it wasn’t for the support of the Performing Arts Department at St Mary’s.  I’m looking forward to what LIPA has to offer and taking the next step in the journey to pursuing a successful career in the Arts”.
