St Mary's College Leadership students used their newly gained management skills to organize a Summer Fair in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Armed with cakes, face paints and hula hoops they entertained the local children and fed parents with their delicious home baking to raise money for this worthy charity.

Leadership student Beth Cavill said, "My dad was diagnosed with MS approximately 3 years ago. At the time of his diagnosis I knew very little about the disease, other than it had no cure. The fact that I wasn't aware of what the disease was and what it causes made me realize that many other people also would be uninformed about the disease. This made me really want to tell people about the disease and make people more aware of it. I have previously raised money for the MS society by cycling coast-to-coast, from the west coast to the east coast of England. The charity event that we organized in our leadership course was very important to me, as it was an additional opportunity to attempt to make people more aware of the disease, and to raise important money for the MS society, to help people who have the disease, and to contribute to the search for a cure.”

The grand total raised was £341.
