TESCO has cut 40 jobs from its Nelson store, just weeks after opening.
Tesco Metro opened in February in the former Kwik Save building, off Broadway, with around 120 staff.
A spokesman for the supermarket giant said all those who had been axed were employed on temporary contracts.
