THE royal couple will attend lunch, hosted by Clarets chairman Barry Kilby, in the Jimmy McIlroy Stand, at Turf Moor.

The public are invited to witness the visit, with viewing galleries on both the North Stand car park, and along Harry Potts Way.

Access to the North Stand car park is via Harry Potts Way and it will be open from 9.30am.

The public should be in place by 11.30am. The club is also opening the 8,000 all-seater James Hargreaves Stand to allow the public and schoolchildren to watch performances during the visit.

Taking part will be Pendle Youth Orchestra, Sir John Thursby Community College, Heasandford Primary, Unity College, Accrington Academy, Blessed Trinity RC College, Peel Park Primary, Haslingden Primary, Padiham St Leonard’s Primary, and Barrowford Primary School.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will then be invited out onto the balcony, before the Queen unveils a plaque, and then signs the visitors’ book beneath a framed Burnley shirt from the 1914 FA Cup Final, at Crystal Palace.

The shirt features the royal crest commemorating the occasion of The Queen’s grandfather, King George V, becoming the first reigning monarch to present the FA Cup following the Clarets’ 1-0 victory over Liverpool.
