A 19-YEAR-OLD Burnley shop girl carried out a striptease at a Sunday school, in the name of art , back in 1965.
Judy Chapman was performing in front of a live audience with the Masque Players, in the satirical revue ‘There’s a Hole in my Bucket’, or ‘Beyond the Pale’.
The whole scene, however, was cleverly lit, so she was only seen in silhouette and was actually wearing a leotard.
The revue was presented at Westgate Congregational Church School, which the players had used as a theatre since 1959.
It had an 11-strong cast, and Judy also appeared as a singer.
One of the them, Brian Whitaker, said: “All the material for the revue was vetted by the Lord Chamberlain’s office.
“Our first revue went down so well a year ago, we decided to do another – if only to prove we are not as egg-headed as some people think.”
