EXTRAORDINARY tales about ordinary men and women during the Second World War have been collected in a new magazine out today.

To commemorate the 65th anniversaries of Victory in Europe Day and Victory in Japan Day, ‘World War II The Tears, The Joy and The Triumph’, has been produced by journalists at the Lancashire Telegraph and the Citizen.

The magazine gives voice to the people in our region who, by virtue of appalling circumstance, performed extraordinary acts of courage.

Each copy costs £3.95, with £1 from each sale going to the Royal British Legion and the Help For Heroes charities.

Copies are available from the Lancashire Telegraph head office in High Street, Blackburn, from newsagents across East Lancashire, or by telephoning 01254 298111.

It is also available to purchase in an online-only version. This means that you can get instant access from wherever you are in the world; browse, print and bookmark pages. Purchase your copy by clicking the link below.
