THIS superb photograph of Edwardian gentlemen was discovered in the attic of a house in Revidge Road, Blackburn.
Can anyone tell us who the chaps were and why they were posing for the camera?
There are about 60 of them, obviously all dressed in their finery, sporting their natty bowlers or homburgs, waistcoats and watch chains.
They all, too, have wonderful whiskers, either full beards or curling moustaches, much in imitation of Edward VII.
And in the absence of walking canes, many have umbrellas and some with raincoats over their arms. We believe the picture was taken in Corporation Park, possibly on the steps leading to the Italianate gardens and date it around the late 1890s or early 1900s.
Have any readers information about these fine gentlemen, who give the impression of being among the town's foremost citizens of the time?
