AS you look forward to your summer holidays, can you remember the very first time you went abroad?
Today sun bathing on a continental beach is the norm, but it's not so long ago when Blackpool and Fleetwood were our main destinations.
Sheila and Colin Brennan, of Blackburn, have shared their first Spanish holiday experience with Looking Back.
The year was 1972 and the couple, along with their 10-year-old daughter Janet and son Peter, then seven, spent 12 days in Benidorm.
The family spent their first holiday out of the UK at the Hotel Perla and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. But they thought readers would be very interested in the price 35 years ago. The full total for the four of them was £172.20 - for the flight, two twin rooms, airport tax and insurance!
Have you any memories of the first time you set foot on foreign soil?
