BACK in 1962 Mary Kilroy was a young pupil at St Peter’s RC School, Mill Hill, Blackburn. Today, she and her former classmates, are reaching the age of 60, so she would love to meet some of them.

Now Mary Stephens, she has sent Bygones this school photograph from more than 50 years ago, to help in her search for old friends.

She said: “It would be lovely to have a bit of a get-together as we are all approaching, or are now, 60. We also had a lovely teacher in the summer of ‘62, Miss Josephine Cross, who became, I think, Josephine Schofield and it would be lovely to hear from her, too.”

Mary recalls all the names of her young friends from school, then aged seven or eight.
