AN alternative to dry cleaning will open in Accrington this month.
Acorn Cleaners, in Whalley Road, is the brainchild of local girl Cheryl Duffy and is Lancashire’s first green alternative to dry cleaning by using a wetcare system.
The business uses the Miele Professional Wetcare System, which provides deep cleaning to dry clean-only garments, and is greener, cleaner and safer than other professional cleaning systems on the market, the company said.
Cheryl said: “Traditional dry cleaning uses a chemical called perchloroethylene, which is toxic and extremely harmful to the environment. Acorn Cleaners does not use any harmful solvents, and we are proud to be Lancashire’s first green alternative to dry cleaning.” The business will open on November 21 at 11am.
Mayor of Hyndburn Coun Judith Addison will open the procedures at a special opening ceremony.
