A job lot of advice

THE Wiltshire Times and Chippenham, News Job Fair drew in the crowds yesterday by offering advice for jobseekers as well as people looking to start up their own firms.

Big-name companies Vodafone, Virgin Mobile and Center Parcs were among the stallholders, with the police, fire brigade and Army also using the fair to sign up new recruits. This year a business fair was incorporated into the event for people wanting to start their own company or considering a career change.

The fair, held in the Civic Hall, Trowbridge, was officially opened at 11am by Mike Williams, chief executive of the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce.

Louise Keenan, Wiltshire Times classified manager, said: "Because we have really low unemployment in the area we decided to give people the opportunity to think about how they can find a new career.

"We had a brilliant turnout with some really strong stands from employers all across Wiltshire."
