Earby put record on the line at Red Caps
3:50pm Friday 16th May 2014 in Sport
EARBY put their 100 per cent record on the line tomorrow as the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League returns after a cup weekend.
And Richard Craddock’s men are determined to carry on from where they left off as they make the journey to Salesbury.
The Applegarth outfit have impressed since the start of the campaign with new skipper Craddock and former Nelson man David Crotty looking good.
They had no game last weekend as a result of losing to Brooksbottom in the preliminary round of the Ramsbottom Cup and Craddock is hoping Earby will carry on from where they left off.
“We have done well so far,” he said. “Obviously it’s early doors but we are going in the right direction after last year.”
They face a test at Ribchester Road against a Salesbury side who are bang in form with new signing Aneeq Hassan in the runs and long-serving professional Susantha Pradeep doing the business with the timber and the ball.
Cherry Tree are another side on a high after they beat Settle last weekend in the only Ramsbottom Cup tie not to be settled by a bowl out.
They host the Dalesmen again tomorrow but young talent Kelan Florentine is an absentee for Mark Hadfield’s men.
Bowler Florentine swaps Preston Old Road for Emirates Old Trafford as he plays for The Last Man Stands XI against the Central Lancashire League in a warm-up ahead of Lancashire’s Twenty20 Blast clash with Worcester.
Reining champions Clitheroe travel to Brooksbottom with youngster Charlie Dewhurst getting his chance to shine in the first team, while Read bid to bounce back to winning ways with a home clash with Brinscall.
Barnoldswick welcome Euxton to Victory Park and confident Padiham bring back veteran Peter Shirtcliffe for their trip to face Oswaldtwistle Immanuel at New Lane.
Great Harwood are finding wickets easy to come by this season with Stuart Maher in top form and he will look to add to his tally when Edenfield visit The Cliffe.
