BOROUGH leisure boss Damian Talbot has promised a full update on the success of Darwen Library Theatre and the town’s leisure centre in his next report to the full council forum.
He was tackled on the issue by retiring Marsh House representative Chris Thayne on Thursday. The Liberal Democrat questioned the executive member of leisure’s inclusion of reports on the performance of King George’s Hall and the nearby new leisure centre in Blackburn town centre when he had ignored their counterparts in Darwen.
At the Council forum, Coun Thayne said: “These are important facilities to the town and borough.”
Coun Talbot said: “I cannot include everything in every report.
“I can tell you both are doing well with the panto at Darwen Library Theatre having the best results for 12 years.
“I will ensure I include both in my next report to council forum.”
