CLYDE manager Colin Hendry was disappointed not to take all three points at Palmerston after watching his side hit the woodwork three times and miss a late penalty kick.

Hendry also disputed the penalty decision that gave the hosts the lead, saying: "I did think their penalty was rather soft but we'll leave it at that."

His team were unlucky to find themselves a goal down in the early stages after seeing Queens twice saved by the woodwork.

First Stevie Masterton's corner from the left was deflected onto a post by Eric Paton. Then Dougie Imrie's cross came off the underside of the bar.

The hosts took advantage of their escapes after 23 minutes when Neil McFarlane was brought down by Chris Higgins and Stephen Dobbie made no mistake from the spot.

Clyde were unlucky once more as Masterton let blast a 35-yard drive which beat home goalkeeper Jamie McDonald but crashed off the bar.

But they finally pulled level four minutes after the break when Neil McGregor got on the end of free kick from Masterton.

Sean O'Connor had the ball in the net for Queens seconds later but was ruled offside.

Clyde had a great chance to win the match when Imrie was brought down by Paul Burns, but the striker took the penalty kick himself and blasted it over the bar.
