NELSON and Colne College Sixth Form has appointed a new assistant principal to the senior management team.
Paul Britton has joined from York College and will have overall responsibility for A Level provision.
He said: “After studying philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Oxford, I have taught and led teams in a range of further education and sixth form colleges from Exeter to Hampshire to York.
“I am extremely excited about working at Nelson and Colne College; a place that manages to combine a real family feeling with truly outstanding achievements by our students.
“I have already found an exceptionally able and committed team of staff and look forward to spreading the word about the best 16-18 education in the region.
“I am especially passionate about developing our A Level provision to ensure the best preparation for those students wanting to pursue an academic path.”
