A BODY has been found in a remote area behind Whalley Golf Course.
The discovery was made yesterday evening in the area of Wiswell Moor Quarry, a police spokesman said.
The identity of the body is not yet known but police have confirmed it was that of a man in his fifties from the Ribble Valley.
The man's body was later taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
A police spokesman has said that there is nothing to suggest that this death was suspicious at this time and inquiries are still ongoing.
He also said that a postmortem examination is to take place and the death is still being treated as unexplained.
