AROUND 500 loyal supporters from Lowerhouse Cricket Club made their way to Old Trafford to watch the Lancashire Cup Final yesterday.
Five coaches made their way to the ground as they prepared to watch their team face Ormskirk Cricket Club.
A group of youngsters were lucky enough to perform a guard of honour as the players walked out onto the field.
Stan Heaton, Lowerhouse Cricket Club chairman, said it was a proud day for everyone.
He said: “The fans are what make this club, there’s no doubt about it.
“They were here when we were dreadful, they were here when we were the worst team in the league.
“They deserve a good day out like this.
“It was also amazing to see so many fans turn up.
“I’m so proud for the players and the fans for everything they have done.
“Everyone has worked very hard to get the club to be where it is.
“We had a great first day so we were going into the second with confidence.
“Whatever the result I am sure we will remember this day for a very long time to come.”
