Lewis Travis has not held discussions with Blackburn Rovers over a contract extension yet and he is keen to avoid distractions in the final stretch of the season.
Travis, alongside Callum Brittain and Sondre Tronstad, will be entering the final year of his deal in the summer. All three players are tied down until 2026 but given their performances on the pitch, fans would like to see the club keep them for longer.
Rovers have not renewed a first-team contract since December 2023, when Adam Wharton penned a fresh five-year deal. It was an area that former Director of Football, Gregg Broughton, was proactive with.
Travis nor his agent has not held any discussions with the Blackburn Rovers board about extending his stay. He is relaxed about the situation though and remains focused on the final eight games of the campaign.

"No, I haven't," Travis told The Lancashire Telegraph last week when asked if there'd been any talks.
"Yeah, of course I would like to stay. I've been here most of my footballing career. But yeah, like I said, no one's said anything to me.
"That's football. It is what it is. I think football is football and if it's not here, it'll be elsewhere but I'm not focused on that.
"I wouldn't really want to be talking about contracts at this stage of the season anyway. I think contract talks are best talked out of the playing season. So yeah, let's just finish this season strong and try to get in the top six and then we'll take it from there."
Rovers have six players out of contract this summer, as well as five loans that will return to their parent club. The LT exclusively revealed Dom Hyam's option has been triggered, keeping him at Ewood Park until 2026.
Ryan Hedges' clause has not been activated yet. There have been preliminary talks over a new deal until 2027 but those have been quietened recently with the club handling the change of head coach. There is still an expectation the Welshman will be at the club, one way or another, next term.
Similarly, no talks have been held with Danny Batth yet about an extension at this stage. He signed a straight one-year deal and so a fresh contract would have to be agreed. Andi Weimann, it's understood, is in the same situation.
Yuri Ribeiro and Adam Forshaw signed for six months in January whilst there has been no change to Tyrhys Dolan's situation.
Travis doesn't believe off-field contract situation have had any impact on the group and insists it's not a topic they discuss.
"I don't want to speak for the lads so it's hard to say," he said on the contract landscape.
"I think the lads, as a footballer, if you're playing well and doing the right thing the grass on the team is doing well, the contracts and stuff like that look after themselves.
"I think everyone's just got to band together, do the best and then see what happens. I think all the lads coming up at the end of the contract this season, I think they've all had really good seasons as well.
"If you have a good season then it's always easier to get a new contract, whether that's here or elsewhere. But we are all just trying to focus on doing what we can to finish well in the league and the off-field things will take care of themselves."
Rovers have a chequered past when it comes to fresh contracts. Fans still point to the hat-trick of exits which cost the club in the summer of 2022, with Darragh Lenihan, Joe Rothwell and Ryan Nyambe leaving for free. Ben Brereton Diaz left for nothing 12 months later.
Under Broughton, Rovers renewed seven contracts in 2023. Since he left the club last summer, nobody has penned a fresh deal, though. Fans will hope the Dolan situation is not a return to old ways.
With Blackburn needing to bridge the financial gap between themselves and top-six rivals, retaining maximum value in their assets is imperative. That can only be done by ensuring they are proactive with their contracts, even if it is with a view of selling them.
