Blackburn Rovers have triggered the one-year extension clause in Dom Hyam's contract, The Lancashire Telegraph can exclusively reveal.
The defender, who signed from Coventry City signed a three-year deal in the summer of 2022 with the club holding a 12-month option.
Rovers have now exercised that, meaning Hyam is now contracted at Ewood Park until 2026. However, there have been no indications from the club as to whether they plan to offer Hyam fresh terms beyond that.
Ryan Hedges is the other first-team player out of contract but with a clause. The LT previously reported Rovers have indicated they will offer the Welshman a new deal until 2027.

However, with the transition of appointing a new head coach, those discussions have not progressed much further. It's not known whether they have formally triggered his option yet.
Taking aside Hyam and Hedges, Rovers have five other players whose deals expire on June 30. Andi Weimann and Danny Batth will feel they have done enough to earn another year.
Yuri Ribeiro and Adam Forshaw signed short-term deals in January and the former recently said nothing has been discussed about extending that yet.
Tyrhys Dolan is still expected to assess his options in the summer. Rovers would be due compensation if he leaves on a free transfer.
